What is Moonlit Moves?

Moonlit Moves is the name of our vibrant community that hosts biweekly (or sometimes more frequent) Friday West Coast Swing classes and social dance at The Polish Club in San Francisco. Our goal is to provide a space that is welcoming, safe, inclusive, & fun… a place to kick off your weekend dancing all night long!

What is West Coast Swing?

Here at Moonlit Moves, we dance an incredibly fun, improvisational, and creative social dance called “West Coast Swing.” This dance is derived from another swing dance called Lindy Hop, but is danced to more modern music such as pop, hip hop, R&B, jazz, blues, lyrical, soul, and more! Often given praise for it’s smooth and elastic aesthetic, West Coast Swing leaves plenty of room for individual expression and communication.

Although West Coast Swing is danced around the world, California is its home. Check out our Calendar and come learn and dance this amazing dance with us!

Moonlit Moves is located at The Polish Club, 3040 22nd St, San Francisco 94110. Please enter through the gates on 22nd St. You can find more info on our Location page!

what should I expect in a typical night?

Moonlit Moves offers drop-in beginner and open levels classes 8:15-9pm. Right after classes conclude, we head into our social dance party 9pm-midnight.

We also offer a fun homemade goods bakeoff. In the past we have had banana bread, cookies, and muffins! People in our community bake something to share with attendees and attendees get to vote on their favorite to win and move onto the next round.

The bakeoff is a friendly competition and has been a crowd favorite!

$25 - Open Levels Class + Social Dance Party
$25 - Beginners Class + Social Dance Party
$15 - Social Dance Party only

We currently accept Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, & Cash (no credit cards)

Special pricing for add-on classes will be published on the Facebook event pages.
